Hallooo Teman2, beberapa hari gak sempat OL dikarenakan jaringan ditempat saya kurang mendukung... Maklum saya berdomisili di kawasan terpencil... Hehe... Btw, apa kabar kalian?? Moga baik2 saja yagg...

Herman Li Profile

Lahir di Hong Kong, pada 3 Oktober 1976. Herman Li adalah musisi yang otodidak, sebagian besar ia belajar gitar dari mendengarkan musik favoritnya dan menonton video.

Setelah bermain di sejumlah underground rock dan metal di London, Herman memutuskan satu-satunya cara bagi dia untuk maju, adalah untuk membentuk sebuah band. Pada musim panas tahun 1999, Herman menemukan sejumlah musisi di Inggris untuk membuat band baru yang sekarang dikenal di seluruh dunia sebagai DRAGONFORCE. Walaupun intensifnya world tours dengan DragonForce, Herman juga mempunyai waktu untuk menulis kolom bulanan gitar di majalah Total Guitar (Inggris).
Dia juga telah memberikan banyak konsultasi gitar di seluruh dunia, dan menampilkan pendekatan ke instrumen untuk membantu menginspirasi gitaris di seluruh dunia.
Herman Li juga terlibat dalam pengembangan gitar listrik, dan memberikan ide-ide baru untuk meningkatkan instrumen.

Herman Li memenangkan 'Best Shredder' penghargaan tahunan di Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards 2005. Bersama Sam Totman, Herman memenangkan empat kategori di Guitar World's Readers Poll 2007 untuk Best New Talent, Best Metal, Best Riff dan Best Shredders. Eddie Van Halen

Sebelum era permainan gitar shredd dipopulerkan oleh Yngwie Malmsteen pada tahun 1984, 6 tahun sebelumnya Eddie Van Halen telah lebih dulu sukses menggemparkan dunia musik. Teknik two handed tapping atau yang biasa disebut tapping saja telah berhasil secara mutlak meracuni lebih dari separuh gitaris rock yang ada di Amerika. Bukan hanya teknik tapping saja, tapi pria berkelahiran Amsterdam / 26 Januari 1955 ini juga mempopulerkan gaya permainan gitar hard rock yang sangat berbeda dari kebanyakan gitaris rock yang cukup kental permainan bluesnya. Solo gitarnya di tembang Eruption yang terdapat dalam album debut grupnya Van Halen secara mengejutkan menjadi perbincangan utama gitaris-gitaris rock dimasa itu. 

Eddie Van Halen atau biasa disebut dengan panggilan singkat EVH, merupakan seorang imigran dari Belanda. Ia dan keluarganya pindah ke Amerika sekitar tahun 60an. Awalnya lebih dulu mempelajari piano dan kemudian sedikit konsentrasi di drum. Sedangkan kakaknya, Alex Van Halen malah mempelajari gitar. Diam-diam mereka berdua saling mencuri kesempatan mempelajari instrumen yang bukan miliknya. Alex belajar drum, EVH belajar gitar. Ternyata malah keduanya sepakat bertukar alat musik. Jadilah kemudian EVH menekuni gitar. Pada saat mulai belajar gitar, ia cukup terpengaruh dengan permainan dari Eric Clapton dan Jimmy Page. Kemudian mereka membentuk band bernama Mammoth yang akhirnya berganti menjadi Van Halen dengan masuknya Michael Anthony pada bass, dan David Lee Roth pada vocal. Band ini terbentuk secara resmi tahun 1974.

Album Van Halen yang dirilis tahun 1978 berhasil menembus charts Billboard sampai posisi 15 dan berhasil terjual sebanyak 2 juta keping yang salah satu menjadi penyebabnya adalah solo gitar EVH di lagu instrumental, Eruption. Nama Eddie Van Halen langsung berkibar karena ia berhasil mempopulerkan teknik tapping. Meski kontribusi dari David Lee Roth sebagai vocalis yang atraktif dan fenomenal juga tak bisa dipandang sebelah mata, namun bisa dibilang nama EVH lebih menjual. Namanya menjadi perbincangan dan berkali-kali meraih penghargaan sebagai Guitarist of The Year oleh majalah-majalah.

Selain teknik tapping yang menjadi trademarknya, EVH juga dikenal dengan senyumnya yang selalu ia tampilkan dalam segala kondisi. Tak heran gitaris-gitaris muda di Amerika begitu menghormatinya. EVH kemudian membuat penampilan gitar Fender Stratocasternya menjadi berbeda. Body berwarna merah dengan garis-garis putih menjadi salah satu nilai jualnya.

Album berikutnya dimasa David Lee Roth menjadi vocalis yang dirilis adalah Van Halen II (1979) dan Woman and Children First (1980), Fair Warning (1981), Diver Down (1982), dan sebuah album yang merupakan salah satu album masterpiece dari Van Halen yaitu 1984 yang dirilis tahun 1984. Di album 1984, EVH menampilkan permainan keyboard yang menawan. Malahan masyarakat awam lebih mengenal suara dan permainan keyboardnya di lagu Jump ketimbang teknik-teknik gitarnya. Lagu Jump berhasil menjadi juara 1 di charts Billboard.

Pada tahun 1983, sebelum album 1984 dirilis. EVH sempat bekerjasama dengan King of Pop, Michael Jackson. EVH ikut serta dalam proyek album Thriller yang nantinya terjual lebih dari 20 juta copy. Ia memoles lagu yang berjudul Beat It menjadi sedikit berwarna rock dan dance. Tak lupa juga EVH menampilkan solo gitar dan teknik tappingnya yang merajalela di lagu tersebut. Munculnya EVH di lagu tersebut mendapat respon yang luar biasa dengan perolehan menduduki puncak charts Billboard selama berminggu-minggu.

Tahun 1986 Van Halen mengalami perubahan formasi dengan mundurnya David Lee Roth dan digantikan oleh Sammy Haggar. Meskipun begitu, EVH tetap mampu menampilkan permainan-permainan gitar terbaiknya. Album-album berikutnya seperti 5150 (1986), OU812 (1988), For Unlwaful Carnal Knowledge (1991), dan Balance (1995) masih cukup mampu memperpanjang nafas Van Halen dalam dunia rekaman. Tak lama kemudian kembali Van Halen berganti vocalis dengan masuknya Gary Cherone (ex Extreme). Van Halen semasa Gary Cherone oleh banyak pihak dianggap sebagai era terburuk dengan ditandai kurang suksesnya album Van Halen III (1998). Tahun 2001 EVH terkena kanker mulut, ia terpaksa absen selama sekitar 2 tahun untuk proses penyembuhan.

By optimizing kernel performance your PC will now store this unused information on the disk when it is not being used.

Increase CPU Priority

Jimmy Page Profile

Jimmy Page adalah salah satu gitaris yang mempengaruhi banyak gitaris pada eranya sekitar pertengahan 60-an dan tahun 70-an. Pertama kali belajar gitar saat masih muda melalui Spanish gitar pemberian orang tuanya. Ia mulai bermain gitar ketika berusia 13 tahun karena terpengaruh oleh gaya rock n roll Elvis Presley pada lagu “Baby, Let’s Play House”. Awal tahun 60-an ia membuat album bersama beberapa band lokal seperti Carter Lewis & the Southerners dan Neil Christian & the Crusaders. Pada tahun 1963 ia menjadi additional gitar untuk Diamond band bersama Jet Harris & Tony Meehan(ex-Shadows). Singlenya berhasil mencapai puncak tangga lagu Inggris.

Tahun 1966 ia bergabung dengan Yardbirds sebuah band yang dipelopori Jeff Beck dimana ia menjadi lead guitar menggantikan posisi Eric Clapton yang keluar. Di Yarbirds ia hanya ikut tampil dalam 1 album yaitu, Little Games. Namun ia juga sempat mengikuti beberapa promo tur albumnya.

Thn 1968 ia bergabung dengan Led Zeppelin dan mengalami masa puncak kejayaannya. Selain Jimmy, personel lainnya terdiri dari John Paul Jones (bass), Robert Plant (vocals), dan John Bonham (drum). Bersama band ini banyak hits yang telah dibuatnya, Dazed and Confused, Whole Lotta Love, Immigrant Song, Black Dog, Stairway To Heaven, termasuk lagu exotic bernuansa timur tengah “Kahsmir”. Sedangkan album-album yang ia hasilkan bersama Led Zeppelin antara lain : Led Zeppelin I, Led Zeppelin II, Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin IV, Houses of the Holy, dan Physical Graffiti. Album-album ini menjadikan Led Zeppelin sebagai band tersukses di tahun 70-an. Wabah permainan gitar Jimmy Page kemudian menjadi inspirasi bagi gitaris-gitaris Heavy Metal beberapa tahun kemudian. Sayangnya, kematian sang penggebuk drum, John Bonham membuat band ini jadi tak menentu arah. Akhirnya band ini vakum atau bisa dibilang bubar.

Di sela kesuksesannya dengan band2 nya Jimmy Page juga mengeluarkan single solo seperti “Rare Jimmy Page solo 45” yang di release tahun 1965. Di tahun-tahun 80an saat band heavy metal ramai bermunculan, Jim juga sempat berkolaborasi dan menjadi guest star dalam album-album berbagai artis seperti David Coverdale, Robert Plant, dan lain-lain.

Meski Led Zeppelin sudah tak jalan lagi, namun di pertengahan tahun 80-an sering terjadi proyek reuni Led Zeppelin dengan bantuan beberapa additional drummer seperti Phill Collins sampai anak John Bonham sendiri, Jason Bonham. Tahun 1994, proyek reuni ini sempat menghasilkan album akustik No Quartet dan tampil dalam tur dunia MTV Unplugged yang disambut sangat antusias oleh penggemar-penggemar mereka di era jayanya dulu.

John besar di Long Island, tepatnya di King park, dimana dia, john myung & Kevin moore bersekolah bersama. John mulai Belajar gitar ketika masih berumur 12 tahun (sebelumnya dia pernah belajar ketika berumur 8 tahun tetapi menyerah ketika Dia melihat kakak perempuannya harus begadang tiap malam belajar main organ. Dia tidak merencanakan untuk menjadi seperti Itu, Dia belajar gitar sepulang sekolah dan akhirnya dia menjadi tidak tertarik lagi). Namun dia mulai banyak terpengaruh Oleh permainan gitar dari gitaris semacam yngwie malmsteen, randy rhoads, iron maiden, steve ray Vaughn, dan grup besar Semacam yes, rush, Dixie dregs dan lain lain dia mulai bertekad untuk mencapai level permainan seperti mereka.

Sebagaimana kemunculan musik trash metal yang membuat John tertarik, maka John juga memperluas influence nya dengan Mendengarkan Metallica & Queensryche. John merasa membutuhkan tantangan yang lebih dalam tehnik guitar oleh karena itu Dia banyak mengadaptasi hammering speed & melodic style dari gitaris-gitaris seperti Steves (Steve Morse & Steve Vai), The Als (Allan Holdsworth & Al Dimeola) Mike Stern, Joe Satriani, Neal Schon & Eddie Van Halen.

Pendidikan musiknya dimulai dengan berbagai kelas teori musik yang dia ambil ketika high school. Dia belajar secara otodidak, tetapi Dia sempat menerima beberapa pelajaran gitar yang dia ambil ketika dia masuk ke Berklee College of Music di Boston, dimana dia Mempelajari komposisi jazz dan harmoni. Ketika di Berklee John Petrucci dan John Myung yang juga belajar di berklee bertemu dengan Mike Portnoy, dan mereka mulai membuat band yang diberi nama Majesty yang nantinya kemudian berganti nama menjadi Dream Theater. John sudah merekam 7 album dengan Dream Theater, dan dia juga banyak terlibat dengan beberapa proyek sampingan seperti Liquid Tension Experiment Dengan Tony Levin, Age of Impact, dan bahkan game Sega Saturn yang disebut Necronomicon, dan juga terakhir dia terlibat dalam proyek G3 Bersama Joe Satriani dan Steve Vai. Kecintaan dia pada menulis lirik dikombinasikan dengan gaya komposisi yang unik dari progressive fusion Mengasah bentuk musik dari Dream Theater.

John tinggal bersama istrinya Rena, dan 3 anaknya SamiJO, Reny, dan Kiara di New York. Ketika dia tidak bermain gitar dia banyak menghabiskan Waktunya dengan istri dan anak-anaknya dengan bermain skating, bersepeda, berolahraga dan menontong film.

John sedang merencanakan membuat solo albumnya yang pertama. Lagu-lagu barunya yang dia mainkan ketika bersama G3 juga akan ada di solo album tersebut. Jaws of Life (sebelumnya I.B.S.), Damage Control and Glasgow Kiss. Dia melibatkan beberapa musisi seperti Dave LaRue pada bass, Dave DiCenso dan Tony Verderosa pada drum.
